Our first Exchange Students from NDU have arrived at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar!

Exciting news from Bauhaus-Universität Weimar (BUW): building on our long-standing partnership with Notre Dame University-Louaize (NDU) in Lebanon, we've welcomed our very first two two exchange students from NDU to spend a semester with us here in Weimar!

Getting two students settled into a new university, a new city, and a new country doesn’t happen overnight — a lot of quiet, essential work went into making this exchange a success. On the BUW side, the International Office, the Head of the Bachelor of Architecture programme, and the Academic Advisor for Incoming Exchange Students all worked closely together to align course selection, sort out credit recognition, and put together a proper orientation at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism. At the same time, we stayed in close contact with colleagues at NDU to make sure both universities were on the same page about what the exchange should look like.

Behind the scenes, our teams handled everything needed to get them here and settled: accommodation, enrolment, orientation, and access to German language courses. Both students have now arrived in Weimar and are getting to know their new home — from the studios of the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism to the streets of the city itself.

This is just the beginning. In future exchange rounds, we’re hoping to welcome students from the Scientific College of Design (SCD) in Oman as well, with the possibility of new partner institutions joining the programme down the line.

A warm welcome to our new NDU students — we’re glad to have you here!
