The development process kicked off in April 2025 during the project’s kick-off event, where course teams were formed and a two-phase approach was outlined. The first phase focused on developing core course content through collaborative rounds of discussion and review, culminating in intensive exchanges during the workshop in Oman. The second phase, currently underway, involves pilot testing and refinement of selected course components in ongoing teaching activities.
The courses are designed to be competence-based, thematically updated, and closely linked to local and global urban challenges. First elements have already been tested in teaching contexts, including guest contributions by partner staff in a course at Notre Dame University-Louaize. The finalized courses are set to be fully implemented from the academic year 2026/2027 onwards.
